Awesome day

It's crazy spending half an hour driving back and forth between 6th street and 8th street finding the entrance towards Lillian Anderson Arboretum. Just about to give up, I decided to give it one last chance turning into a little paved road which could hardly be seen off the main road. We found it! Finally.

Elle hopped onto her umbrella stroller and off we ventured into this vast expanse of woods. We did not see a soul as we walked deeper under the forest canopy along the magnificent pine trail, only heard the sounds of crickets and rustling leaves. Minutes later, I heard Elle started saying "I want go home.". I could tell she's a little intimated by the wilderness as I felt the same. I sped up the pace and all of a sudden she was thrown out from the stroller and landed on her fours. After mere seconds of shock, we burst into laughter for this silly accident. We continued winding down the trail until our eyes greeted rows of incredible tall pines lining perfectly on two sides. The view is spectacular. Elle had so much fun picking pine cones lying around as I was snapping away. We saw two big dogs when we got back to the parking lot. I'm surprised to hear Elle waving to the dogs and said "I see you later".
After the nature walk, we went shopping, had an ice cream treat and then burnt off her energy at our favorite park. It's an awesome day - taking her nap right on the clock at noon, did not act fussy when we're out (thanks to the nap), and she was dog-tired when we got home so no stalling at bedtime.

It's on M43, between 6th and 7th street, same row as MSI. It's easier to see and turn into the little paved road on your right when you're driving from MSI. Get a company or two when you visit there 'cos it's quite remotely scary. Maybe it's just me. :P

you were not kidding when you said that you barely could see the road...although I look at it every single day when I go home from MSI, I woouldn't thought anything was back there and yes it was beautiful but I was a little intimidated. I'll wait until Kak Aida comes back. I know she going to love taking pictures here during the fall... :) Thanks for the tip!

Is it truly a "hidden" gem? Did you just scout the area or hike the trails? In the springtime, coyote is spotted in the arboretum. Mostly hikers and people walking their dogs there.

I wanted to go in by myself so bad, but I only got a few steps in and took a picture. And there are coyotes? OMG! If I was eaten by one, noone will know I ever went there. I can't to see it in the Fall! If you want to go, just ring me up.

I googled for coyote and it seems like coyote is more afraid of human (adults) and not likely to attack adults. No prob, I'll give you a call if I'm going to visit there again.
