Happy Halloween

Halloween was our little snow white's favorite holiday. It was a 3-days celebration of Halloween this year.
On Friday, there's a trunk-or-treat at Elle's daycare. It's funny to watch Elle and Kaylan teamed up holding hands in hands dashing through the lines while their teacher screaming behind, "Elle! Kaylan! Come back and stay with your class!". These two must be the troublemakers in the class. Elle had so much treats stuffed into her bag that the handle torn off the bag.
Saturday, we went to the safe Halloween event held in downtown, doing some craftings inside the KVCC museum.
Sunday we invited friends over joining us treat-or-tricking in our neighborhood. When I told Elle we were going to go trick-or-treating at night, she wondered aloud, "It's Halloween AGAIN?".
These little kids' faces lighted with excitement, raced each other from house to house getting treats. Gosh, the snow white was so clumsy that she tripped over while she ran, stepped into a hole and fell on her knees while trying to make a short cut through the lawn, sandwiched among a swarm of big kids and got pushed behind the door, last but not least, her pumpkin basket was overloading with her loots that the handle broke off.
Elle and Mia were thrilled giving out the candies when the kids coming to our houses for trick-or-treating.
S'mores time! Roasting marshallows was a hit!

Happy Birthday, daddy!

Elle was very excited of making a heart-shaped birthday cake for daddy. It's hilarious that while we're eating the cake wondering why the texture turned so DENSE after refrigerated it, Elle blurted out, "The cake DANCE???".

New England Trip 5 - Springville, NY

The Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area is a raw beauty of nature where Cattaraugus river flows through miles of canyon walls. It's a very relaxing day of fishing, pinicking, and water fun. Elle and I made boat with fallen leaves, put a little rock on it, and let it float away.
We had dinner at Anchor bar, the Home of the Original Buffalo wings. On top of 20 buffalo wings, we ordered a white pizza. Our eyes almost bulged out when the huge pizza brought to our table.
The next day at around 8pm, we arrived home safe and sound, completing our journey of 2819 miles road trip.
It's interesting to find that the McDonald's coffee in New England is made with Oganics Green Mountain coffee bean.

New England Trip 4 - South Maine

Friday 2010.10.15
The storm moved into Acadia in the morning, blowing strong wind and rain. The news said White mountains, NH region had been blanketed with snow overnight.

We drove to the south of Maine, visting the L.L.Bean Flagship Store in Freeport, opens 24 hours a day year-round. The store is jaw-dropping huge with a giant "Bean Boot" in one of the entrance. Across the store was the outlet shopping's heaven. It's perfect to kill some times walking around on a rainy day.
It's still raining as we headed towards the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. It was awesome to watch the raging of a stormy sea as the wind was howling and the wave was pounding.
At night we had a deep-fried smorgasbord of maine shrimps, clams, scallops, and haddocks. So yummy. Had my craving for deep-fried goodness fulfilled.

When we got back to the hotel, we had such a hard time finding our room as it's located at the far end corner, on the highest level, facing the bay. It's so secluded, yet a gem. It's the nicest room we had been staying by far with absolutely the most gorgeous view.

That night, Elle and I hid under the blanket and jumped out screaming "Surprise! Happy Birthday" to Hin and kissed all over his face singing the Happy Birthday song. She loved the part of surprising her daddy so much that she wanted to do it over and over again.

Saturday 2010.10.16
We woke up to a beautiful sunrise just outside our balcony. How blissful. The surroundings of the Oqunquit River Inn was so beautiful and peaceful. We had a wonderful breakfast in the Inn overlooking the bay.

There's a long 10-hours drive ahead of us to New York today. After breakfast, we strolled along the beach in the town. Elle loves beach! Chasing the waves and the birds, tracking the birds' footprints, picking shells and writing on the beach.

On the long road trip, Elle made her left hand talking to the right hand, and sang silly "Row Row Row the shrimp.. life is but a shrimp.".
