Carnival time at daycare

To our surprise, Elle was willing to sit still during the face painting and she picked a rainbow. The bubblegum flavor cotton candy was delicious!

Dear Elle,

We have been complaining about your whininess almost every day. One day, you sat in your carseat, perfectly well-behaved, asking "Mama, am I whiny?". Before mama could answer you, you said "No, I'm not whining, mama. I'm a good girl."

These days, you love taking shower with mama together. To quote your saying, "Comeon! It's going to be fun!". After shower, you would make hand prints and write numbers and letters on the foggy mirror. You even discovered the fun of writing with your finger on the dusty TV screen.

That day after you finished eating the popsicle, you told mama you didn't want the popsicle anymore. As I was wondering why you said so, you continued saying, "Now I want ice cream.".

Before we leave for daycare, you always request, "I want to watch cartoon two more minutes before going to school".

You couldn't bear with the messiness at all. We heard you complaining "It's all MESSY!" every single day.

Mischievous you stack all the pillows on dada and pointed at him saying, "You're a cheeseburger!".

You said, "I cannot jump into the TV to help him" when watching someone was in trouble in a movie.

One day while I was closing my eyes and resting on the bed, you came in sitting next to me and started singing, "I want a lollipop.. lollipop... please cut it in half for me.... lollipop." Then, you shook me and said, "Wake up mama! I told you I want a lollipop!".

You enjoy going over all the bites and boo boo you could find on your legs, arms and belly. When we ask you who did these, you'd tell us this one was a buggy bite, that one was spider did it, the other one was ants, and the red one was the dragon swung his tail and hit you.

You make my days when you snuggle into my arms, gently pat my back, caress my face with your fingers, and then give me a kiss on the cheek in the morning.

love,
mama

Easter Egg Hunt

What a gorgeous breezy sunny morning for easter egg hunting! However, our little one was tired and moody as she was yet to be recharged from the strenuous activity in daycare the day before.

Elle was so dissapointed when she found out there's no candies inside the eggs. It's hilarious to watch her acting out by throwing out the empty shells one by one to her back while murmuring angrily "NO CANDIES!!". Even the passers-by was cracked up by her act.

It turned out we needed to redeem the candies with the easter eggs we picked. Finally her smile was back the moment a bag of sweets dropped into her basket.

All the kids were sitting in one table at the breakfast place. Oh boy, they're having so much fun running around and checking out the fishes in the fish tank.

Affection

The kids had a wild fun day chasing around screaming on top of their lungs. The girls, Elle and Mia, bonded in no time holding hands together wherever they went. Mia was like a big sister to Elle, helping her putting on and taking off the shoes and always looking out for her. When we're going to leave, Elle was crying because of she wanted to stay with her BEST FRIEND. She even agreed mama and dada to leave her behind so that she could stay with Mia. No doubt, she adored Mia.

Egg Jump!

It was windy and freezing cold on the day of Easter egg hunt at Celery Flat as opposed to the sunny springlike weather on the day before. Silly me thought it was the Easter weekend. I must have lost track of what day supposed to be recently.

It was a fun fun day of "EGG JUMP". EGG JUMP is the ridiculously cute name Elle came out with for the Easter egg hunt. To quote her saying, "Let's do the Egg Jump!". I totally forgot to bring along a basket for the egg hunt but luckily the staff was handing out the meijer bag for those in need. At 10:15 am sharp, all the kids in the age group from 2 to 3 rushed into the field and collected the assorted colored eggs and candies scattered around. Oh boy, in less than 5 minutes all the goodies on the field was gone.

Elle was surprise to see there're more candies inside the egg when I openned the first one. But, she insisted putting the candies back to the egg the way it was after we got all the eggs openned. Oh well, just another pet peeve of her.

Spring's around the corner

We have been having spring-like weather recently, lots of rains and above 60F temp. After dinner, we just needed to get out to get some ice cream fix.

Dear Elle,
You've been doing so well sleeping in your own bed from day one we put together the dora bed in your room. The transition was simply effortless. When it's bedtime, you'd go straight to your room lying down and bargaining how many books to read before going to sleep. To name a few of your favorite books: The Giving Tree, What the dinasour does when he's sick, three little pigs, the monster handbook, Horton the elephant etc.

Your innovative way of saying the alphabet letters cracks us up. It goes like this: A for Anna, C for Copper, J for Josie, M for Michael, K for Kaylin, Z for Zachery and E for ME (Elle). There're all names, names of the little friends from your daycare.

We're so proud of you able to write number 1 to number 5 all by yourself. It's hilarious to watch you reading aloud from a book or a paper as if you can really read. It's such a spirit-lifter hearing you cheer us up with "I know you can do it! Comeon! You can do it!". Funny you would wave your indexed finger from left to right while saying "No No No". When you can't do something, you'd say, "I've no power, all the people take away my power". Whenever mama tells you she couldn't do it because she has no power, you tell mama not to worry. You said, "I have an idea. The power is in my pocket!". That day, dada mocked you being a fatty baby and immediately you shouted back, "I'm not fatty. I'm CUTIE!".

It's funny to watch you cautiously put one hand underneath you chin while the other hand delivering the food into your mouth when you eat. We have so much fun playing matching card game together. That day mama asked you what were you doing when seeing you busy typing on the computer keyboard. Without giving mama a peek, you replied in a serious tone saying: "I'm busy. I'm doing a job.". The other day, mama took a break from working on the laptop and went away attending something else. By the time mama came back, you had already sneaked up sitting on mama's chair busying tapping the keyboard with your fingers. You turned your head and were startled to see mama standing right there when hearing a "Ahem.." sound. You flashed mama a smile saying "I'm mama.". Mama was floored.

Love you... one hundred percent,
mama
