New England Trip 3 - Acadia N.P., Maine

Even though a severe storm with high wind advisory was expected to move from Florida towards Maine tomorrow, today was another beautiful day of sunny blue sky to explore the beauty of Acadia National Park in Maine.
In the morning, we took a walk on the sandbar seperating the Bar habor and the Bar island. During high tide, the sandbar is completely submersed in the water. We found the ground carpeted with shells, crabs and seaweeds as we were walking across to the bar island. It's interesting to watch the seagulls picking a shell from the sand bar, flying up into the sky making a few circles, and then dropping the shell from up high to the rocks below to break open the shell so that they could get the meat out of the shell. Elle had so much fun picking shells, making splash in the puddles, chasing the seagulls, and building shapes with rocks that we had to drag her out of there.

Bar Harbor and the lobster pounds. Oh yeah, "President Obama was here"!
Later we rode along the Acadia's park loop road, making stops at scenic overloooks and exploring miles of scenic trails.
Schooner Head, located over the mouth of Frenchman's Bay where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. Astonishing view as we're walking on the cliff.
Elle was in the lead climbing up the Beehive mountain with enthusiam. Whevener we tried to give her a hand, she shooed us away. It was a fun yet challenging hike for her.
Sand Beach with dramatic rock ledges rising above each side. We picnicked on the rocks listening the ocean crushing onshore. Elle couldn't wait digging into the sand.
Thunder Hole was a much anticapted highlight of the trip; however, we missed the high tide when it could generate a splash over 40 feet as the surf crashing against the huge boulders into the inlet.
Scenic Jordan Pound with North and South Bubble Mountains in the distance.
Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the eastern coastline of American, claimed to be the first spot in the United States where the sun rays hit. The drive up to the submit of the mountain, at 1532 feet, was a thrilling experience. Standing in awe on the Cadillac's summit admiring the dazzling views of the mangificent Atlantic glistered in the sun, dotted with pinky-sized islands and sailboats, with autumn colors showcased among a green tapestry of pine and spruce trees. We were charmed by the mesmerizing beauty of its almighty. A paradise, indeed.
We had lobster dinner at bar harbor. Loved the creamy clam chowder. The clams in the chowder were bountiful. When the lobsters were served, Elle armed with the knife and fork saying, "I'm going to CUT CUT CUT the lobster so that the claws will not get me!".
