New England Trip 1: Niagara Falls, NY
Departed from Kalamazoo at around 5:30 in the morning, stopped over Cleveland, OH for Dim Sum at Li Wah Restaurant. It's hilarious that when the siew mai was coming, Elle rubbed hands together saying, "Ummm Umm Umm, yummy SUSHI!".
It's almost 4pm by the time we got on board the Maid of the Mist touring the Niagara falls (American falls). We had a cheerful young crowd screaming excitedly over the greatness of the falls. Everyone on board was oohing and aahing at the rainbow over the falls. It got even crazier when the boat was sailing amidst the falls, the screams escalated, the wind blew in all direction while the water splashed all over us. Elle was shrilling hysterically "Faster! Faster! Hide under the raincoat!". She even buried her whole self inside the raincoat so that the water could not get her. We got really soaked, but lots of fun and excitements.
We strolled along the Niagara falls in the park, walked across a bridge to goat island located between the American falls and Canadian falls, which provided a different perspective of the falls.
Elle got her bribe ~ice cream when we walked back to the main street. We enjoyed the ice cream at the outdoor seating watching the cars crossing the rainbow bridge to Canada. The US Custom looked very much alike the ones at Singapore.
We were dead tired to stay for the falls illuminated at night time, so we headed to the motel. Elle awoke after we checked into the room. It's funny to see her acted overjoyed about the motel, jumping and running around in the room, touching everything in her reach.
I'm not kidding when I said hotel was the only thing she looked forward everyday on the trip. She even pronounced the word hotel as in "hot-tell-er", in a french-like, cutesy accent.
We must have done a lot of walking around the falls today. At bedtime, I asked Elle what we did today, she told me, "Nothing. WALKING. Just walking.".
